The Denver Broncos got a convincing win over the Cincinnati Bengals 28-3 to improve to 2-2. Below is the recap and postgame interviews:

Broncos won the coin toss and deferred to the 2nd half.

Jake Browning the Bengals offense started with the ball at their own 31 yard line. Cincinnati gained their first 1st down on a holding penalty and then the 2nd near midfield after Chase Brown took a screen for 9 yards and Browning QB sneak for 1 yard. After a nice PBU by Brandon Jones on Jamar Chase, Tee Higgens caught a 19 yard pass on 3rd and 6 to move deep into Broncos territory. On 3rd and 2 from the Broncos 8 yard line, Browning overthrew Higgins in the end zone and Cincinnati was forced to settle for a chip shot FG, going in front 3-0 with 9:08 remaining in the 1st quarter.

Bo Nix and the Broncos offense would begin their first drive of the night from their own 30 yard line. On 3rd and 2, Nix pitched the ball to Harvey who barely got back to the line of scrimmage and the offense quickly went 3 and out on their first possession. After a holding penalty by Cincinnati on the punt, the Bengals started their 2nd drive of the night from their own 10 yard line with 6:48 remaining in the 1st quarter.

Cincinnati got their first 1st down of the drive on penalty as Riley Moss was called for DPI covering Jamar Chase 26 yards downfield. From their own 45 yard line, Bengals lined up to go for it on 4th down but a false start by their center forced a punt. A 24 yard shank punt gave the Broncos great field position for their 2nd drive, starting from their own 36 yard line with 4:24 remaining in the 1st quarter.

Courtland Sutton got the drive going with a 12 yard catch on 3rd and 7 and on the next play, Bo Nix rolled out and found Adam Trautman down field for a catch and run of 26 yards. As the Broncos moved inside a goal to go opportunity, Bo Nix scrambled in from 6 yards out to give the Broncos their first lead of the game 7-3 with 17 seconds remaining in the 1st.

Cincinnati started their drive at their own 35 yard line after a touchback. As we began in the 2nd quarter, Bengals got their initial first down off a JFM offsides penalty. A massive illegal formation penalty wiped out a 36 yard catch by Tee Higgins. On 3rd and 20 from their own 39 yard line, Broncos were able to get the Bengals off the field after a 10 yard catch and run by Chase. Cincinnati punted back to Denver who would start their next drive from their own 20 yard line after the touchback.

With 11:52 to go in the 1st half, Bo Nix and the Broncos went back to work. First play of the drive, Nix found Marvin Mims on a catch and run for 11 yards on a quick pass in the flat. On 3rd and 4, Nix hit Sutton for an 18 yard gain to get the Broncos near midfield. Sutton helped convert another 3rd down with a 22 yard catch and run and then from the Bengals 16 yard line, Marvin Mims took a Jet Sweep off the right side for a touchdown to extend the lead 14-3 with 8:48 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

Bengals offense went back to work from their own 14 yard line. Browning took some deep shots but was unsuccessful and the Bengals quickly went 3 and out, punting it back to Denver who would start their next drive at their own 30 yard line with 8:11 remaining in the 1st half.

An illegal hands penalty against Trey Hendrickson gave the Broncos their initial first down of the drive. JK Dobbins gained 9 yards, then 12 yards, and the Broncos were into Bengals territory at the 40. Luke Wattenburg got a holding penalty that wiped out a 17 yard run by Dobbins that would've put Denver into the Red Zone. Troy Franklin snagged a 24 yard laser from Bo Nix and then Nix found Evan Engram as they worked down to the Cincy 2 yard line. On 4th and 1, Bo Nix rolled out to his right and threw an interception to Demetrius Knight for a touchback.

The Broncos defense did their job and forced a quick 3 and out that included a Jonathon Cooper and Nik Bonitto shared sack. Broncos offense, trying to add some late first half points, started their drive from their own 20 yard line with 1:09 remaining and 1 timeout. Bo Nix and the offense executed a beautiful drive that included a 28 yard catch from Marvin Mims to get the Broncos into Field Goal range but after a nice play by Tyler Badie on a catch and run to get out of bounds, Nix wanted more. On 3rd and 2 with 16 seconds remaining in the 1st half, Nix hit Sutton over the middle for a 20 yard touchdown and the Broncos extended their lead 21-3 with 8 seconds remaining in the 2nd.

Bo Nix and the Broncos offense started with the ball out of halftime. After gaining an initial first down with a 5-yard JK Dobbins run on 2nd down, the Broncos unfortunately couldn't do much more with the opportunity and punted it to Cincy, who would start their first drive of the 2nd half at their own 30 yard line.

The Bengals offense quickly went 3 and out as on 3rd and 2, Jonathon Cooper swatted the pass down. A near disaster on the put return as Marvin Mims bobbled and fumbled the ball but fair catch interference was called and Denver retained possession starting from their own 15 yard line. JK Dobbins got the Broncos their initial first down of the drive but multiple penalties ended up dooming the drive and the Broncos would eventually punt it back to the Bengals, who would start their next drive from their own 20 yard line with 6:20 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

The Bengals gained 22 yards on their first play of the drive on a pass to Iosivas. A holding call against Cincy backed them up to their own 46 and then Nik Bonitto basically ended the drive with a bear hug sack. Cincy would eventually punt and the Broncos offense would take over from their own 8 yard line with 2:53 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

The Broncos offense dug out from deep in their own territory after a completion to Nate Adkins for 7 yards and then an 18 yard hookup with Troy Franklin. Luke Watteberg registered back to back penalties and, after a pretty tough drop by Troy Franklin, the Broncos were forced to punt. Cincy started their drive at their own 18 yard line with 12:47 remaining in the game.

After an initial first down, the Broncos defense came up big again. John Franklin Meyers sacked Browning on 2nd down, effectively ending the drive and Cincy punted it back to Denver who would start their next drive at their own 24 yard line with a little over 11 minutes remaining in the game.

Bo Nix and the Broncos offense executed a brilliant drive that included JK Dobbins getting to 100 rushing yards (first time in 37 games that the Broncos had a runner go over 100 yards) and eventually a walk in 12 yard touchdown pass to RJ Harvey on a swing pass to extend the Broncos lead 28-3 with 4:58 remaining in the game.

Broncos would go on to beat the Bengals 28-3 in dominant fashion and improve to 2-2.

The next broadcast will be on Sunday, October 5th as the Broncos travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. Coverage starts at 7am MTN.
